In this chapter, and any time one is learning about marketing, the idea of a brand is one of the most important. According to the text brand is defined as a name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers, according to the American Marketing Association; critical for marketers as it conveys the intangible value and differentiation customers receive from choosing a good or service versus its competitors. A brand is the identity of a company or a business. A brand must stand out from others in order to capture consumer’s attention and eventually choose one brand over another.
When thinking of a movie that represents branding Wolf of Wall Street. I think of the specific scene when Jordan Belfort is starting his own firm and he is training his employees on the new company’s standards and how to speak to potential clients. This scene is a great example of setting a brand.
